Our journey together is completely full-service, designed to turn the love you have for your pet into breathtaking heirloom artwork for your home.

 

1. The Consultation & Design

Our journey begins with a complimentary planning consultation. Together, we will discuss how you wish to preserve these memories—whether you envision a breathtaking canvas gallery, a custom wall display, or a luxury heirloom album. We will also dive into your companion's unique personality: their favorite quirks, what makes them tilt their head, and how we can best highlight their spirit.

 

2. Reserving Your Date

To officially reserve your portrait date on my calendar, a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer fee are required. The remaining balance is due prior to the start of our session.

 

3. The Custom Session

On the day of your session, we focus entirely on fun. Because I come to you, your pet will be entirely at ease in an environment they know and love. We work at their pace to capture them at their absolute best.

 

4. The In-Person Reveal & Custom Ordering

I am proud to be a full-service boutique photographer. I believe your beautiful portraits belong on display where they can be cherished daily, rather than forgotten on a digital drive in a drawer. Once your gallery is beautifully polished, we will meet in person for a guided reveal. I will help you design and select the perfect heirloom pieces and custom prints tailored specifically to compliment your home layout.

 

5. Hand-Delivery

After your order is complete, I go back to work. I order everything, carefully inspect it to ensure it looks flawless when it arrives, and then personally hand-deliver your finished archival artwork directly to your door.

 

 

Preparing For Your Session

A little preparation ensures our time together is effortless, relaxed, and entirely focused on capturing your companion’s true spirit.

 

Prepping Your Pet

• Grooming: Please ensure your companion has been recently groomed so they look and feel their absolute best.

• Exercise: A brief exercise session shortly before I arrive helps burn off excess energy, allowing your pet to feel calm, content, and relaxed for the camera (just ensure they aren't completely exhausted!).

• Feeding: Consider feeding your pet a slightly smaller meal before the shoot. This keeps them eager, motivated, and highly responsive to treats during the session.

 

What to Have on Hand

• The Essentials: Please have your pet’s favorite high-value treats, a beloved squeaky toy, and a standard leash or harness available.

• Outdoor Sessions: If we are venturing outdoors, please bring a small water bowl to keep your pet hydrated. I also highly recommend using a thin, skinny black leash if you have one, as it can be seamlessly removed during professional post-processing.

• Sentimental Details: Feel free to gather any special outfits, bandanas, favorite toys, or sentimental blankets you would love to incorporate so we can seamlessly integrate them into the session.

 

Wardrobe & Styling: If You Are Joining the Portraits

If you plan to step in front of the lens alongside your companion, our goal is to ensure your attire beautifully coordinates with both the portrait setting and your home's aesthetic. We will dive deeper into this during our consultation, but here is a wonderful starting point:

• The Palette: Classic jeans paired with soft, muted tops create a timeless, cohesive look that won't distract from your pet.

• The Details: Beautiful, polished footwear is highly recommended, as your shoes will likely be visible in full-length frames. Keeping a lint roller handy is also a must!

• Shades to Avoid: I kindly recommend avoiding solid black tops (which naturally attract and highlight pet hair) as well as solid white tops (which easily show outdoor dust or dirt).

• Decor Coordination: Your wardrobe choices should ultimately complement the interior decor of the room where you intend to display your finished artwork, ensuring the colors blend beautifully. Where do the photo sessions take place?

I am an on-location photographer, meaning I bring the studio directly to you. Sessions are held where your pet feels most secure, confident, and comfortable—whether that is in the familiar surroundings of your home, your backyard, or their favorite outdoor retreat in South Lake County.

 

What if my pet cannot stay still or be off-leash?

Please do not worry. Most of my clients' pets are full of energy, and I am entirely accustomed to working at their pace. I use high camera shutter speeds to capture crisp, clear images of moving pets. For safety, many dogs remain on a leash during outdoor sessions; these leashes are professionally removed during post-processing.

 

Can family members join the photo session?

Absolutely. While the core focus is capturing the unique spirit of your companion, I highly encourage family members to participate in a few portraits to showcase the deep bond you share.

 

When and how will I receive my portraits?

Following our session, your images are meticulously curated and polished. We will look through them together during your in-person ordering session so I can help you select your absolute favorites. Once your final heirloom artwork is ordered and inspected, I will hand-deliver it to your door. You will also receive a private online viewing gallery link to view, select, and download your finished high-resolution digital portraits.
